If you have been searching for an ultra-rare classic car that will separate you from the crowd in every way, I think I have just the vehicle for you!
Red Hills Rods & Classics is extremely happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1958 Edsel Pacer Bermuda 6-Passenger Station Wagon!
This wagon is a show-stopper folks! The Edsel Bermuda represented the highest trim level available within the Edsel brand, and was only available during Edsel’s introductory year of 1958. In addition to deluxe interior appointments, the Bermuda was also outfitted w/ simulated wood panels and frames, a hallmark of premium station wagon models produced by sister companies Ford & Mercury, and it came in six and nine-passenger configurations. To separate the Bermuda from Ford models, the Bermuda received Edsel’s front fascia and vertical grille assembly, as well as unique boomerang-shaped taillights. Total production numbers for the Bermuda Station Wagon were 2,235 units, of which 1,456 were six-passenger models.
This particular Edsel Bermuda Station Wagon was built in October 16, 1957, in San Jose, California, and is in the ‘Edsel Registry’. It is a very well-known car in the Edsel community. Actually, if you Google 1958 Edsel Bermuda, you will see that Wikipedia uses this car for their photo. As you can see by the images, this Edsel Bermuda has been beautifully restored to show-quality level, and countless man-hours were spent making sure that every detail is correct. Options & features include: Tele-Touch Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Dial-Temp Heater/Defroster, Stromberg-Carlson AM Radio, Whitewall Tires, Wheel Covers w/ Spinners, Tinted Glass, Padded Dash & Sun Visors, Seat Belts, Two-Tone Paint, Electric Clock, Windshield Washer, Oil Filter, Paper Air Cleaner, Oval Side Mirror, Carpeting, Courtesy Lights, Rear Door Safety Locks, and Back-Up Lights. Finished in two-tone (Code Q) Jonquil Yellow & (Code M) Charcoal Brown Metallic, the contrast is simply beautiful and quite striking to say the least. Originally, the secondary color was (Code N) Driftwood, which was more of a cream color, but it was decided during the restoration that using the secondary color of Charcoal Brown Metallic looked so much better. I certainly think that they made the right decision. The two-tone paint has a lustrous shine throughout, the simulated wood panels are absolutely beautiful, and all of the chrome & stainless trim is in excellent condition as well. She sits on the original 14” wheels w/ original Edsel spinner wheel covers, wrapped w/ Coker Classic whitewall tires.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a gorgeous (Code AU) Driftwood & Brown Saran interior that harkens back to an era where American automobile makers were on top of the world. When you slide inside, and recognize the highly-unique features such as the Rolling-Dome speedometer and the Tele-Touch Pushbutton Transmission located in the center of the steering wheel, well let’s just say that you will feel like it’s 1958 all over again. The interior is in absolutely gorgeous condition from front to back, w/ the one blemish being the small tear on the bottom of the driver-side door panel. We do have the correct materials for small repair, which will of course go w/ the car. All of the original gauges including the Rolling-Dome speedometer, lights, blinkers, radio, etc. are in perfect working order, and a set of aftermarket oil pressure & water temperature gauges were mounted under the dash as well, for a precise reading. As a wonderful added bonus, a custom 2-piece set of Samsonite Ultra-Lite luggage, which matches the car, will be included in the sale!
Pop open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original 361ci Edsel motor, producing 303hp w/ 400 Ft. Lbs/Torque. Rather than labeling the motor as a 361ci, Edsel always used the torque rating, hence the name E-400 which is prominent on the valve covers. Please look closely at the engine bay photos to see how much time & attention went into to making sure that everything appears factory correct, from the hoses/belts, glass Edsel windshield washer reservoir, and correct FOMOCO parts throughout, including the correct battery. The E-400 motor is linked to the original 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission, which feeds power to the original 3.22 rear end. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs & drives beautifully in every way. The Tele-Touch Automatic Transmission functions perfectly and shifts extremely smooth. This Edsel Bermuda is an absolute BLAST to drive, and will get more attention than you have ever had in your life! Along w/ the beautiful 2-piece set of matching Samsonite Ultra-Lite luggage, the new owner will receive the original 1958 Edsel Master Parts catalog (rare), original 1958 Edsel Service Manual, original 1958 Edsel Electrical Assembly Manual, (2) original 1958 Edsel Dealer Brochures, a 1958 Edsel Tele-Touch Transmission Controls Manual, a metal license plate featuring the actual car itself, a jigsaw puzzle of the actual car itself, and a vintage photo of Donna Reed, who drove a 1958 Edsel Bermuda in her popular television show.
